Likely they do not.

In all fairness, it can be easy to forget it is there. I also find it interesting this happened in the baggage claim. That means whatever checks they do on the luggage doesn't find stuff like this and it successfully got on the flight. (I think the only checks they ever do are to see what they can steal as well as to see if the suitcase isn't broken it... If not broken, they must break it.)
