Woman Shot In Butt After Sliding Into MRI Machine With Loaded Firearm

Just had my first morning at 730 this morning..
Been trying to get an MRI toe to thigh for over a year.. I get a call that they wanna MRI my brain. I get down there and ask him exactly what they’re looking for and it has to do with my ears not being in here and leaking shit. I get my results at 7 PM, which is shockingly fast. All she said is “everything is completely normal you don’t have a tumor”

I’ve got to get a new doctor I was supposed to go see an ear, nose and throat specialist, and now they’re checking me for tumors that was never even discussed.

Yes, I am happy that’s good news. But it doesn’t do a f***ing thing to help my situation.

I gotta stop going there I’ve gone there 1000 times this year were various things. The only thing that helped was the physical therapy and antibiotics for this infection I had all over my face and head.

Basically, no more primary care I’m just going to the f***ing ER

so what are the physics that can lead to a discharge of the firearm from a mere magnetic interference?
i am not quite getting it.

Does anyone understand this post? I may need a brain MRI after reading it.

I've had a couple MRIs, for abdominal they made me put on hospital clothes, but for knee or shoulder they don't as long as your clothes don't have metal in them. And never been wanded, just answer the questions about metal stuff.

Jeeze anytime I’ve had an MRI they’ve made me strip down to my boxers, put a Jonny on, walk by a metal detector and run a portable wand up one side and down the other.

Wondering how the heck she managed that.
Really?

I've never had to do that with any of mine

They were just like take out your keys wallet etc etc or bad shit is gunna happen

I didnt even get detected

Did that hopped on up

Now that being said guns are not small items not easy to forget when your stripping the rest of your metals

I have so much metal holding my left side together I'll never be able to get near a MRI scanner

I've been X rayed while carrying

I’ve had several mri scans this year. If I wasn’t already inpatient, they made me change into hospital provided pants and johnny and then they wanded me.
She wouldn't have been shot if the hospital mall cop wanded people as they walked in the entrance. Hospitals are gun free zones just like airport terminals, right? So why no checkpoints and mmwave scans?

Hospitals are not gun free zones, unless physically part of a medical school. Signage is not binding in MA.

Lahhk Forrrust Guhhhmp, she gohht shohht in the buttoohx.

I had an MRI eons ago. Damn. The list of things that you MIGHT have on or in you was vast. Sounds like the techs didn't do their job.

I was thinking the same thing as well. I used to work in an MRI environment and the technician would always use a portable wand to scan the subjects clothing and then they would stand next to a wall with sensor strips that would further indicate metallic material. The process was always very thorough in order to prevent anything like this from happening.

The entire environment has a magnetic field induced within so any metallic object would tend towards the magnetic center at speed relative to mass. For reference: Earth's magnetic field is between 25,000 – 65,000 nT, while the magnetic field in the MRI environment is 1.5 – 3.0 T. The magnetic field of the MRI is around 40000-60000 times greater than earth's magnetic field. Anything largely magnetic would be depressed, warped, and contorted greatly by the force of the impact and could potentially cause the trigger mechanism to actuate.

so what?
what did strike the primer and why?

you cannot 'cause the trigger mechanism' to do anything with the engaged safety.
