Wish this were mine

the detail

That detail got even better, at least 2 times a week we were flown by
chopper about 60 miles to a bombing range. The towers were around 90
ft high, we could take all the ammo we wanted, (or up the the capacity)
of the chopper) they would set down on the towers, we unloaded
all we could carry and spent whatever time shooting. the towers
were 10 feet from the ocean, we even had tracer ammo.

when called on to do the spotting we climbed down into the tower from
the roof.

shooting belted ammo was the best.

It was fun, but my next duty station was a carrier working the flight
deck at night for 2 years.

One more reason to move slightly north;

New Hampshire has no limit to the amount of ammo you can keep at home.

Of course now that I've said this somebody's gonna check...

Are you suggesting Massachusetts DOES have a limit? I've never heard of such a thing.

If so, what is it? Is it set by total rounds? By caliber?

Around 25k or 30k rounds. (10k rf, 10k cf & 5k or 10k shotgun?)
