Wilmington Gun Show

Gun shows are for newbies looking for felonies. Plenty of dealers always selling clear as day post ban mags to whoever wants to buy them. Not that you shouldn’t be allowed to buy them, it’s just that some of these dealers are selling to people who are truly clueless to the risk they are taking.

meh. At the price the vendors get for those mags (rape) not many newbies are going to be buying them, so it's a self limiting prophecy.

Not to mention there's about a thousand other things that are worse for a newbie to do than buy a postban mag.

Cambridge man arraigned on ammunition charge after allegedly threatening shooting spree - The Boston Globe

"After speaking with his roommate, police were able to reach Schwarztrauber by phone over the weekend. He told an officer that he was at a gun show in Wilmington.

A detective contacted Wilmington police, who said that Schwarztrauber had been placed into protective custody at the gun show and was found to be illegally in possession of 150 rounds of 9mm ammunition, according to a police report."

Im thinking his roommate needs to be investigated. Another "Too perfect" report?

Does seem a bit too neat, probably a lot more to the story. But if he did have the ammo on him with no LTC then he is responsible for that action. The law about ammo sucks and I don't agree with it, but you choose your ground and answer for that choice, good or bad.

Another police report stated, “He has a hatred for Democrats, and has shown increased aggression towards socialist Democrats and the Democratic party.”

There we go, dude did not mind his gf is a lib. [slap]

However, at Wednesday’s arraignment, Middlesex prosecutor Sam Zaganjori said Schwarztrauber has indicated that he was about to “come into possession of a sniper rifle.”

Hey this wasn't a 30-06 by any chance?

We now have a nice law in place which enables anybody to invent anything about somebody else and our tanks and militarized police squads will deal with the "suspect" without any mercy.

Shoplifting, on the other hand, requires no longer any attention from our authorities.

Word on the ground is that the arrested guy was a full on foamer. So while his roommate may have been the one that ratted him out, there were people at the gun show that got a "who the f*** is this guy?" /creeper vibe off him.... I'm not inclined to believe the tinfoil route on this one.

They probably could have gotten the guy on terroristic threats or some BS but the ammo thing was a lot easier. I wouldn't be surprised if other charges appear later.....

Based on the 9mm ammo he bought, it was likely a 9mm sniper rifle. [rofl]

I used to have this fantasy about going to a gun show and finding all sorts of interesting old firearms (I collect WW II pistols) and maybe getting a great deal on something for my collection.
After reading a number of these posts RE MA gun shows that fantasy was just a -- fantasy.
One of these years I'd like to make it to a REAL gun show like the Show of Shows in Louisville or the Shot Show in Las Vegas.

As others have said in another thread, gun shows are definitely for new gun owners who don’t know any better with regard to prices and availability of guns/ammo. It’s just a complete waste of time, gas, and money.

I'd agree, but the average age at MOST shows is well over 50. Maybe it's come down a bit in the last couple of years. But for a long time, it was me and the guy with the Hitman tattoo and everyone else was 50+ it seemed. Well, besides the 2-3 moms' with the babies in the strollers. (WTF was ever up with that???)

My buddy who is a dealer told me the “ammo” guy at the front door was arrested for selling to an unlicensed customer. And some wack job waiting to get in got pinched outside for something and arrested. I double checked with friend if the arrests made because of lack of personal hygiene? Answer was no.

High capacity lack of bathing???

I to used to get the beef jerky to untill one time I did and when I got home and went to eat it I realized it was all moldy so i never bought it again that sucks because I really liked it.

The gun-show jerky-beefstick guy keeps his stuff pretty wet. I suspect it's "freshly" made. Like he makes a big pile of stuff right before a show. Ergo it's wet. I got a pile of beefsticks from him once. Over the next 2-3 days, they dried out like you wouldn't BELIEVE.

I move too quick to bother stopping anymore. Back in the day, it would be after 10 before I hit the jerky guy at Marlboro. Now it's 9:25 or so.

Do we know that he bought that ammo at the show? Without a license to show, I'm thinking he probably shoplifted it. [thinking]

I agree with you on that one.
A dealer would have to be a class A moron to try under the table crap at a show figuring a fifth of the crowd is probably undercover ATF.

But it turns out that Len is right. The guy *did* buy it at the show according to the news I just watched. And that goes back to an earlier comment that the vendor that sold him the ammo is in trouble too. [thinking]

Hard to be sympathetic then.
That's right up there with doing a line of coke on the desk Sargent's counter at the police station.
If anyone doesn't know that those shows are watched like a hawk , they are a dumbass.

Totally agree. Crazy Cambridge guy must have had a good story or something. Every box of ammo I've ever bought at a MA show required a look at my LTC... not a single exception. I wonder if he "borrowed" one. [thinking]

I used to go to most of the shows and have bought ammo and pre-ban large capacity mags. I've NEVER been asked for my LTC at any of the shows when buying ammo/components/mags. You also don't usually get a receipt (unless paying with plastic) so they have deniability.

How long ago was that ?

I heard he was getting a .22 caliber scoped rifle but it was intercepted by the po-po.

No one will miss the Mass Gun Shows... until they're gone.

I'll say it right now, I'll miss the jerky.
