The sacrifices made for others in an effort to cater to a certain segment of the population over the past several decades has been futile. Federal laws, education opportunities, employment opportunities, government assistance programs all created for a specific segment of the population, and yet violence and crime continue to be their main contribution. This is a problem that cannot be fixed by government favoritism or reparations, it is a problem that has to be solved within that segment of the population. It's a social and ethical problem that begins with personal responsibility, accountability, and respect for others, which seems to be a rare trait within much of that segment of the population.
