Why I am done with gun laws

There are well over 20,000 gun control laws on the books. If those laws are so ineffective, that we need to keep passing more and more, why are we looking at repealing the original 20,000? What makes us think that lawr # 20,001 is going to be the magic one? And if it is, then we can repeal the other 20,000, right?

The fact of the matter is that we have followed all of their useless, ineffective laws. And now those laws are being used to persecute the law-abiding and will be used to break down the doors of law-abiding citizens with no criminal records. This law will not lead to gang-bangers and illegal gun owners getting their doors smashed in and their property being stolen.

Think of our legislators like a shoe factory. If you stop making shoes, what do you need all those workers for?

Your not alone. In general it is starting to look like gun owners have enough.

Nearly One Million New Yorkers Didn't Register Their 'Assault Weapons'

After a deranged 20-year-old brought unthinkable evil to Connecticut’s Sandy Hook Elementary in December 2012, both Connecticut and New York banned the sale of semiautomatic firearms they deem to be “assault weapons” and required owners of these guns to register them with the state.

When the deadline for gun owners to register their “assault weapons” in Connecticut expired on December 31, 2013, Connecticut State Police Lt. Paul Vance said he received 41,347 applications to register “assault weapons.” (I put “assault weapon” in quotes because the only way to define the term is according to what a particular gun-control law decides it means.) There was no process for registering the guns late, so any gun owner in Connecticut with an “assault weapon” had become a potential felon as of January 1, 2014.

This caused the media to wonder how many gun owners didn’t register their politically incorrect guns. The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for firearms manufacturers, said at the time that it estimated there were likely 350,000 residents of Connecticut who had banned “assault weapons” as of late 2013. The media ran with this. Headlines announced that more than 300,000 residents of Connecticut opted not to register their “assault weapons.”

Many then asked New York State how many gun owners had registered their “assault weapons” by the April 2014 deadline set by New York’s SAFE Act (the SAFE Act also considers some shotguns to be “assault weapons”). New York State refused to answer the question, but the NSSF said it estimates that about one million residents of New York State had so-called “assault weapons” at the time of the ban.

What are gun laws? Even the liberals don't know. We have had that 1 year mandatory sentence for decades now, and about 3% of those caught get convicted.

Well, I tried again to get into a Facebook discussion with a former military friend from Clark AB.

He posted the standard no weapons of war post with the military video about M16 being basically the same as ARs and the 200yrs, things have changed.

I responded with a mini-14 does the same thing and more people die from handguns in a year than all rifles and shotguns in 10 years but no one mentions that. I also tagged in the 200 year thing means internet, radio and tv aren’t covered by 1A. Also went through how everytime we screw with the BoR we end up with things like Interstate checkpoints and journalists being spied in and arrested.

He came back with ‘Stand up against gun violence’ and civilians and kids are dying.

I said all violence is bad and what was his suggestion? Mine was lock up bad guys, murderers are done and those adjudicated mentally defective have no weapons.

He replied that he wasn’t going to talk about solutions which he didn’t know anything about.

His solution in his first post was to ban ARs,

That’s why I’m done, when I can’t get a straight forward conversation without buzzwords and feelings being the only response. Do they seriously think banning ARs will solve all the worlds ills or is it just a stepping stone? It’s clear it’s the later.

It's about power and control, it always has been. Your buddy sounds like he's a card carrying Bolshevik!

Is he an Air Force guy? Solutions seem simple from 30,000 feet.

It’s not any gun nor is it any law, or lack there of. It’s America, and how much she has changed.

Back in the late sixties as I became old enough to hunt on my own, I was fortunate to live near several remaining farms in my Town. Equally fortunate that the fields there were well stocked with pheasants come October. Most of my group were 18/19 year olds who liked hunting birds. The fields were all within walking distance from our neighborhood, so walk we did, with our shotguns on our shoulders. I carried my 1968 Wingmaster 12 ga with me. Still have her today although the scars picked up along the way now betray her age. As we walked we certainly drew attention. Friendly attention. “Have fun”, “good luck”, “hey, if you have an extra bird or two I would be pleased to have one” were the normal conversations along the route. It was a time I still remember fondly.

So some 40 years later I would ask you, how far would those teenagers, walking down a public way, with shotguns on their shoulders, make it today?

Not very far I would say. Within minutes 911 would be called, every Cop in the area would converge on us with guns drawn, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say it would be highly likely we would be shot dead within minutes, if not seconds, of the Cops arrival.

How in hell did it come to this, to the blatant disregard for human life, the killing, the murders, the collapse of a moral structure?

Many factors is an easy answer. But I do believe there are two common denominators. The acceptance of violence in our lives, through media, through TV, through video games, through movies and the like. A desensitization to the brain accepting this as acceptable behavior. The second being the lack of treatment or realization that mental illness sometimes means the mentally ill can’t live among every day folks and need to be institutionalized.

How have these two common denominators push their way to the fore front? Liberals, Liberalism, Socialists, Progressives or whatever you want to call them.

Violence in America and Liberals are joined at the hip. A pox upon our Nation, a curse that is slowly but surely eating away at the fiber of morality, decency and all that was once the back bone of America.

It’s stopping the insidious creeping of Liberalism into America that is now the most important job for those of us who understand the immense job at hand. We can’t fail.

When I see the likes of Elizabeth Warren spewing her hate with that wretched scowl my blood boils. But at the same time I gather my thoughts and realize that stopping her, and all who think like her, is not going to be easy, they are firmly entrenched. But somehow, someway, she and her ilk must be stopped. Failing this our Nation will cease to exist. Yes the land mass will remain, but what America was will be gone forever.

My heart goes out to all of those who perished yesterday.
However we got to this moment in time, one thing is for damn sure. The ground work has been laid and it starts at an early age. Kids are taught from every direction on what to think and not how to think. A complete and total lack of critical thinking. Just the other day an 11 year old girl took a knee during the pledge of allegiance. Where did she learn that? All I know is when I was 11 I was trading baseball cards.

I believe there is a third major reason: The Downfall of the American family.
See here: The Downfall Of The American Family | Off The Grid News
Nobody seems to postulate that there is a group so hell bent on banning guns that they see staging mass murders of innocent people as a small price to attain their goal. Who in the world is known to have the desire and perhaps the need to remove private gun ownership to reach their goal? I think some of those people would have no problem having millions murdered to attain the safety to carry their nefarious control of people worldwide. It doesn't take much to manipulate fools to do the dirty work of evil.

It is un-American to register firearms.
Furthermore, it is just as un-American to follow unjust laws that curtail our Civil Liberties.

A Stand will be taken some day, I hope I am around to take it with my Fellow Patriots...

.

This is a great quote! When people ask if you support turning in ammo say, “Yes at ballistic speeds”! This should be an excellent troll for the libtards. Recently Kurt Schlichter had a column entitled Own the Liberals. This seems to be a way to do just that.

Don't you just want to give Linsky a super wedgie? He's like the fat little kid in school who told the teacher you were smoking cigarettes behind the field house...
That piece of Yankee liberal mouses**t should visit my kinfolk in Alabama. Let's see...should we throw him into the Gulf for shark bait or into our interior waters for alligator bait? Decisions....decisions!

Yep, gun laws were also much more permissive pre GCA68, and the AR-15 has been around since 1963. Yet school shootings weren't a "thing" until the last 25 years or so.
The first truly devastating school shooting happened on August 1, 1966. The weapons used by Charles Whitman were a hunting knife (killed his wife and mother), a receptionist at University of Texas killed by several blows to the back of the head by a rifle stock, a few tourists in the clock tower stairwell killed by several blasts from Whitman's 12 gauge J.C. Higgins shotgun. All of the others got picked off at ranges up to 600 yards with Whitman's scoped bolt action 6mm Remington M700. No assault weapons involved. Shows what a well-trained man can do. No such thing as deadly weapons; only deadly men.

Active Service Units of the Irish Republican Army would definitely agree with you.

Many times I've read here in NES that when push comes to shove we will end Our gun ownership with a whimper, and not a bang.

I ain't built that way, My Father wasn't build that way, and my Brothers ain't built that way.

So worry not about Our Future. Our numbers may be small, but we are a tenacious lot of hard-fighting Americans who only get madder when cornered...

My world only has one Gun Control Law:

"Don't Do Anything Stupid..."

It's important to realize, that the vast majority of Gun Control laws being promulgated here in Massachusetts and Federally and their allied Groups and politicians, are not about "Miss-Guided, Do-Gooder Liberalism" but are Trying to take away Our Firearms for Two Reasons:

1. Control/Enslavement!

2. Our Eventual Genocide!

"Genocide" is a strong word, but what we would really see is division between the ruling class and the rest, just like US Senators have special medical care while the rest have to deal with Barrycare. This leads to shortened lives, "death boards" and distribution of stolen wealth to people whom ruling class deem to reward for their services and support.
