Whats with no hunting on Sundays in Maine?

I know someone who, years back, got up bright and early to sit in his tree stand and didn't realize it was Sunday until about 8 o'clock. I can imagine how that conversation would go if a MA EPO had happened upon him while he was trying to slink out of the woods unnoticed like "oh shit oh shit oh shit." Hahahaha.

My wife says it's a blessing that there's no hunting in MA on Sundays so that at least one day a weekend from September to March, I'm home. The "Saturday is for hunting, Sunday is for IDPA" idea went out the window when our first was born.

Snowmobile clubs do trail work during hunting season and usually pick Sundays to avoid hunters. That said if there were hunters out we would still go, just be packing heat so we could shoot back
