si si si.

ive seen them a bunch of times overseas but never was able to fire one. i wonder how they are..

I shoot one in Scotland. They had optics like Aimpoints on them. The were alright. Didn't shoot that tight at 300 yards but they looked pretty beat up.

Ditto, I or we, did an exchange with the Royal Marines in Scotland and London, and we got to plink with them. I like the optics on them for close quarters, but they weren't the best for distances.

Derek - did you participate in any of the Naked Bar activities with the Brits while you were there?

I got to play with one for a couple weeks in 02. I wasn't a big fan, I couldn't hit much past 200 yards. I am a big fan of how the British set up their barracks. Right across the street from the bar.[smile]

Only on NES can a thread on "What weapon is this?" become a thread on naked bar activities. [rofl][laugh2][laugh]

Gotta love it.

PLEASE, NO PICS!!!

I forgot Andy is right the triggers were pretty mushy on the.

The Wookie I was a baby sitter for my guys while I was there. [thinking]

Yeah, talk about a highjack -- but the OP was answered.[smile]

All right, I don't want to put the man on the spot, who knows who's looking.

Naked bar with the Brits is something you have to see but no matter how hard you try you will never forget it.

The first time I saw it was in some hole in the wall bar in Scotland upon my arrival for some cross training with the Royal Marine Commandos.

Basically, it's as simple as one dude who yells " NAKED BAR" in a crowed bar and the rest of the guys drop their kit/trouser and expose themselves while jumping around in a weird sort of mosh.

The Brits are crazy bastards and they will do this anywhere, as this article I linked shows you.

Before we left the UK we had a group cookout with the Brits and wouldn't ya know, at the end of the day when it came time for a group picture, with all kinds of US and British brass there, some bloke yelled NAKED BAR -- and I have one picture that is clean, and one picture that is so f***ed up with naked Brits dangling their junk everywhere that I could never post it.

After we returned from overseas, the Brits came across the pond to VA Beach and stayed with us for a month. I had the pleasure of escorting them out in town one night and right in the heart of the club district in VA Beach, some Brit yelled NAKED BAR, and they all dropped trouser and started jumping around in a big circle jerk type of thing. Weird. [thinking]

Any way, cops go called, I had to tap dance for the cops and do my best to explain what the hell was going on, the cops told us to go back to base (of course we stopped at one more bar before we went home),, where guess what,, somebody yelled NAKED BAR and they all started to get nekid, crazy f***ers.

I had sooo much fun with those guys.....

On topic:
the triggers were pretty mushy on them.

The trigger mechanism is prone to breakage in cold weather also.

Off topic:

I had the pleasure of spending three days on HMS Fearless (similar to the USN’s Austin class LPD) in October 1999. She had a company of Royal Marines aboard at the time. My visit coincided with the 335th birthday of the British Royal Marines. A good time was had by all!

Maybe I'll post a (safe) pic and the story in the military picture thread.
