Never let those things near anything but a stainless gun... they will remove the finish. -Mike

Yes, I lightened up the barrel finish on an SW99 Compact 9mm with one of those before. I stopped before it was too bad, but basically I changed the front half of the barrel from "black" to "light gray". -Mike
