I'm planning to get a scout scope to mount on my M1A Scout Squad rifle. I'm currently considering Leupold or Burris, but may also look at Vortex.

They are from 28mm - 33mm objective, so I was wondering what height scope rings I need. Scope will most likely have a 1 inch tube. I don't know anything about scopes or rings, so if there's something special to look for in rings, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Cuz.

Low rings or even extra low rings should be fine.. with the small objective almost any ring will work.
Only consideration with extra low rings if your going to use lens covers that slip on to the eye/objective bells.

You may want to consider joining the M14Forum and posting your question there. Lots of expertise on M14/M1A/M1 rifles in their membership.

My experience with rings is every manufacturer's height varies wildly. Go to your local gun store and try a few or find someone with the same setup and copy it.
