What Gen. Glock do I have?

I have Glock 27 and I hear a lot about 1st, 2nd, 3rd and even 4th generation. How do you tell which one?

What is the prefix of the serial number? (ie: first three letters)

It is a late Gen 2, or Gen 3 period. With the Prefix of the serial number we can get a timeframe when it was produced.

As fas as Gen 1 glocks, the only Gen 1's are early model 17's.

The 3rd Gen glocks started coming out in 1998. The Glock 27 came out before that date in small numbers.
