Walther P88

[Guderian]

Recently acquired Walther P88-NIB. Very low serial number 003876.
Does anyone know how determine production year?
I can find no lettered stamp on the barrel or frame.
Walther Arms here in the USA is basically useless.

I'd give Earl Sheehan/Earl's Repair a call, he knows his stuff regarding most things Walther.
My P88 is a bit less than 3000 units past yours, not sure if I ever knew the production year.
It does have a 90 stamped between the proof marks on the frame but I'm not sure that indicates the year...
