Mayor Martin J. Walsh and police Commissioner William B. Evans say they’re disturbed that the gun that was used to kill Florida teenager Trayvon Martin is up for auction and wish the weapon would be destroyed. In a joint statement issued yesterday, Walsh and Evans wrote: “We are deeply troubled that someone would look to profit from a tragedy that caused so much pain and turmoil across our country. In Boston, our focus is taking guns off the streets and out of the wrong hands. We believe this gun should be destroyed, so no more lives can be lost.

That quote just goes to prove how stupid these pussies are.

Zimmerman was found "not guilty". He gets his property back. Whether you agree with the verdict or not, whether you think his actions that night were proper or not, that's the way it's supposed to work.

Then perhaps they should remove the firearms from their officers.

You forget maybe these comments came from commissioner evans.......the guy who thinks his "opinions" are the law. Remember his quote "For the most part your "average" citizen of Boston.....does not need a rifle......does not need a shotgun"

**** that *******.

Profit? He's looking to get a few $k to offset a million in legal fees made necessary by a politically motivated prosecution.

I would agree to them destroying the gun if I was Zimmerman 100%.....if they agreed to replace it with one of my choosing. Helloooo $5,000 custom 1911! Its a win win. They somehow make the world safer in their own heads and he replaces a crappy gun with something badass.

Just tell them the 1911 has a "safety switch" and they'll gobble it up.

Bad analogy here but did OJ destroy his gloves? He was found not guilty.

Shame the item, make it shameful to own. This is another way they demonize us.

Everyone knows that that gun should have been in the bonded warehouse until it's owner could no longer afford the storage fees.

So long as the warehouse was forced to destroy it to keep anyone else from being hurt by it. They should not be allowed to auction it off to recover their storage fees.

why the heck would a boston mayor feel the need to comment on something like this? He should keep his opinion to himself. This had nothing to do with boston or MA

We believe this gun should be destroyed, so no more lives can be lost.

[lol]

They make it sound like its the Excalibur of all guns ever made. So once this gun is destroyed, then no more lives will be lost.

Translated version of their statement:

The political hack to English translation.

No, but it has everything to do with getting elected.

It sounds great in a sound bite. He gets to take the moral high road and look like he is doing something important without doing anything. The sheep view this as getting another gun off the streets even though he has nothing to do with it. There is no risk to him here.

Classic case of "Blame the gun". Walsh will say anything to divert attention from the ongoing investigation of his activities as a union thug. Evans will say anything Walsh tells him to. A match made in heaven.

What would destroying the gun accomplish? Can't Zimmerman just go and legally buy another that could, in theory, be used to take a life? Morons...

Has anyone ever asked a BPD patrolman how the rank and file feel about having the Crypt Keeper for their boss?

Oh, grant him his little distractions from his concerns in life...

Labor leaders and elected officials reacted cautiously Sunday to news of a far-reaching federal probe of organized labor that includes Mayor Martin J. Walsh’s time as a union official.
...
The mayor, who promised to usher in a new era of transparency at City Hall, would not say in an interview with the Globe whether he has appeared before a grand jury. ...

Fools.

These comments give you an "inside view" of what would happen with a Boston resident using a gun in self-defense, being tried and found not guilty. They are saying that he'd never get the gun back regardless.

What would destroying the gun accomplish? Can't Zimmerman just go and legally buy another that could, in theory, be used to take a life? Morons...

They are projecting their SOP . . . a Boston resident under the same circumstances would never get their LTC back so could never own a gun again in MA.

It all fits their belief system that nobody in Boston should own a gun other than thugs (interpret that as you like [devil])!

Maybe cuz he's in Hillary & Bill style "divert/deflect attention" mode?? Doing literally everything he can to steer the public focus away from his, um, "indiscretions", praying he won't indicted by the Feds (and have to resign) for being the gutless puke union thug that he IS.
AP_483404373998.jpg
The guy is (and always WAS) your typical Boston politician/Massachusetts solon type, and he'll be indicted just like so many of his political role models have been over the years. "Mayor Marty" will be "Disgraced Ex-Mayor Marty" before his first four-year term is complete. I'll put a C-Note on it. Any takers?...Deny, divert, delay, obfuscate, stall...He studied well..

"Clinton 101"
Gutless Puke Thug.
