Good evening!

I have a mauser I am putting up for sale. Unfortunately, I know little about it. I am having trouble even writing a coherent 'for sale' ad, much less coming up with a reasonable asking price!

It is a very low serial number (175) Venezuelan mauser in 7x57. I believe it is one of the 400 or so mausers converted for the Pan-American games in '54. These rifles are briefly mentioned in Ball's book 'Mauser Military Rifles of the World' ( http://books.google.com/books?id=KlR...page&q&f=false )

It has a hooded front sight that I believe to be aftermarket. I also have the original blade sight. The rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. The bore isn't pretty, unfortunately. The picture is VERY difficult to interpret, but the bore looks dark to me. All serial numbers match.

Can anyone give any information on this rifle? Approximate value? Where to sell? Any information at all is much appreciated.
