I'm shooting new 303 UMC British ammo in a (3) different Enfields.
more than 50% of the brass come out of the rifle with a
split neck----does anyone else have this problem??

I shoot older surplus ammo from these same rifles without a problem

any thoughts on this???

thanks in advance

The .303 UMC is formed such that it will fit most to all Enfields, which have wildly differeing bore specs. If you look at the neck of an unfired and then a fired round you will see what I mean. Essentially all .303 UMCs are "fireformed" when fired.

Downside is that this will lead to much shorter case life especially at the neck.
