A homemade gun and a hatchet were discovered in a man’s carry-on bag at the Portland International Jetport in Maine by TSA officials on Wednesday, according to New England TSA spokesperson Daniel Velez.
Velez stated that a 50-year-old man traveling to Philadelphia went through airport security and was found to have what TSA is calling a “homemade firearm” in his bag. The device looked like a pipe, Velez said — it was a cylindrical shape, and appeared to have been made of a silver metal, with various holes on its body and a knob with the hole protruding from one end.
