What are the laws (if any) regarding transport of air rifles/pistols in MA?

I have a few rifles/pistols that me and a buddy use for some plinking. I usually transport them unloaded or charged with CO2 in a dufflebag in my trunk treating them like a real firearm short of having a locked case for them. However, i keep the little tins of pellets and CO2 in the same bag.

But what are the specifics with laws regarding this? Could i put them in the bag in my backseat if i wanted to avoid damage with some items in my trunk if i wanted? Can i keep the pellets and CO2 with them?

Common sense tells me to treat them like real firearms and put them in trunk, unloaded, Like i've been doing.

Thanks

Airguns are not "firearms" in MA so there is little regulation. Just gotta be 18 years of age to own them. Hell, even a felon can own and shoot airguns. The way you transport is fine. There are no regs on transportation. Each city and town may or may not allow discharge of them, however. Mine does not.
