Here's the deal. I won a rifle a few months ago[smile] and had my brother take possession [sad]since I wasn't licensed at the time. Now I'm licensed[grin] and want to get it back. He lives out of state. Do we have to go to a dealer in his state to do the transfer or can we just do it ourselves[hmmm]?

Thanks for the help.

1. This forum has a section for legal questions. Your post belongs in it.

2. You have 2 options:

A. Have the gun shipped to a MA FFL and pick it up there; OR

B. IF your possession of the gun is lawful in your brother's state, you can pick it up there via an FFL in that state.

So - is a visit to your brother in the offing? [wink]

The question was about GETTING it here. However, YES, an FA-10 would be filed w/i 10 days of it entering MA.

What is the sales tax on something you did not buy?
