I recall all too well, after the Marathon bombing, some douchebag from Israel (statist country, on steroids) calling Kunher's radio show saying "what everybody needs to do now is to calm down, and trust your police and government agencies so they will catch them, just do that".

IMO, in the case of the statist idiots, there is something comforting in sheltering in place knowing that "someone is taking care of you", and you can just sit on the rug and play scrabble with your family. Sort of like waiting out a snow storm.

Authorities set up roadblocks and brought in bloodhounds and helicopters. Hundreds of law enforcement officers fanned out around the prison, about 20 miles south of the Canadian border, following up on dozens of tips.

If they were smart they'd be going door-to-door demanding everyone turn in their cayenne pepper. I'd also be suspicious of any properties with split rail fences in the fields.
