It was nice putting some faces to the names. Everyone that I met was pleasant and there for fun. And an impressive
collection of hardware it was. And I really appreciate PantherArmsAR10s offer to fire his 10. I didn't care to go into it
at the time, but part of the insurance agreement this weekend included a Club Member to sign away that right temporarily.
I bit the bullet on that one ...however, next time, I'll play too. The weather could have been better, but you folks made the
best of it. I left my big canopy up there last night ...just-in-case, but today turned out to be just fine weatherwise ...as expected.
Another big plus besides being just plain nice, was the level of competence and safety displayed by the NES Green Members. I
compliment MrTwigg, and anyone else associated with RSO duties. I observed open actions, trigger awareness, muzzle point,
and general adherence to safety practices.
I would have been there today, but was awoken early this morning with a small emergency, and consequently, it ate up most of
the day. Sorry MrTwigg, I was planning on helping you with target stands.
The Tannerite targets were a great treat ...thanks goes to the-hobbit who loaded up the The Mystery Machine with bang-powder
and gave out free samples! Santa blowed-up real nice ...congrats on the trophy win. The snubby AR, EddieCoyles' 700 grain +P S&W
.500 loads, the .50 bolt, and of course the Thunder Mug were all moving air at an impressive clip.
And a big thanks to all of the folks who purchased a rifle raffle ticket. Proceeds go to stock our pond and purchase prizes and
refreshments for our free (and that means that everything on that day is free) annual (since 1947) Children's Fishing Derby.
When all 300 tickets have been sold, I will announce it on this forum.
And, HardJeepGuy wrote (regarding MRGCI's Club Pres. ...Mike): "He was still there at 10:30pm Saturday night talking around
the campfire at the pavillion". Light a fire and put a beer in his hand, and Mike'll put down roots ...heh, heh, heh. Just a joke,
seriously, he is the heart and soul of MRGCI, and positively haunts the place.
Thank you to Derek, Dennis for his efficient and thorough work, and both for being MRGCI Members bringing the NES to
the Monadnock Rod & Gun Club. And to all of the NES Members who participated.
And, as a Member of MRGCI's Board of Directors, I certainly second Mike's opinion, and will lobby for future NES events at the
drop of a shell casing.
As is stated in any number of signatures on shooter forums across this great Country, and I paraphrase as regards private gun
ownership ...and use; a right not exercised soon becomes a privilege, and from there, it's a short walk to an out-and-out-ban.
Thank you one-and-all for coming to MRGCI in the shadow of Grand Monadnock in the free State of New Hampshire and
getting some fresh air and exercising ...your 2nd Amendment Rights!
PS - I have many pictures to post ...I have optimized most of them down from megabyte sizes to sub-100k each, so will post them in
separate groupings in this thread.
