a vostok cm-2 that was cannibilized and whole left part was machined off to make that ugly braket attached where scope sits on now.Hanging out at a friend's house. He has this Russian .22 competitoin gun. Right handed with a right handed stock and a palm rest on the right side ... but it has a thumb rest on the left.
Does anyone know why?
No. The stock was too thick, couldn't reach the trigger if I placed my right thumb on the rest.To help keep the trigger finger at the correct angle?
Interesting, but that doesn't explain the cut on the side. Is it for the sight?a vostok cm-2 that was cannibilized and whole left part was machined off to make that ugly braket attached where scope sits on now.

My fil has one of those the trigger is as you sayAny way, the trigger is amazing. It feels just as nice, if not better than my 3oz KIDD trigger. That good.
thisNot familiar with that rifle, but my guess it’s not a thumb rest. I believe it is there for clearance for peep sights which usually go below top of stock on that side
