Teach Me About the AKM Clones (WASR-10)

Alright,

I picked up one of the WASR's at Four seasons on saturday.

Pretty psyched about the purchase. (pics to come soon)

Now I would like to learn everything and anything I can about the AK clones and particularily the WASR's. Also I would like to know some general info: going prices on mags, ammo and accessories, what to avoid in terms of mags and ammo, where to buy, etc etc.

I do live in the commiewealth so I am limited by the AG's dumb rules on mail order ammo. If you do have a suggestion in those terms DO NOT post in the thread. (PM would be appreciated.)

Here is site on the Saiga.
Saiga is the "sporting" version of the original Russian AK. They can be legally and easily converted back to pistol grip configuration.

so heres a question:

How do I identify pre-ban magazines? I see various online sites selling surplus mags?

As far as I know... (and I am sure I will be corrected) There has never been any marking on steel AK mags. So it is very dificult to tell. I have about 20 mags and I can't tell the difference.
I do know that most of the polymer (clear etc.) are post ban.

Find a bunch of military surplus mags and there's a high likelihood they're preban, but yeah, they don't really mark those things.
