With all the new carb compliant gas cans with crappy pour spouts on the market I figured I would post a link to the Super Siphon. I just ordered a few of these to try them out. It claims that it will siphon a 5 gal jerry can in under two mins. It also lets you keep your hands free while refueling.

I will post a review when I get them. Also if anyone has used them or a similar siphon please chime in.

They work very well, I have one I keep in my tool bag for various things - namley clearing water off boat covers when I used to do sales. It will definatly do 5 gals in 2 minutes, but as the pictures show it has to be pulling from a point higher than the discharge (basic physics!)

You know, I tried to use one of the cans in my garage to top off the tank on the GFs car a few days back and couldn't. It wasn't one of these (http://www.nospill.com/CARBcans.htm), but a typical spout with some stupid tab that prevented it from inserting into the car far enough to open the backsplash door. It was like they designed these things for use with lawnmowers and other lawn equipment only.

Those CARB compliant ones look like you need an engineering degree to use. And apparently you need an attachment to fill a car. I think zappa and his crew are behind this. They are legislating in job security... [smile]

I have one of the old Black and Decker Jackrabbit hand pumps. Not only will it pump well above the source if you need it to, but once you get the fluid going, you just back the handle a little and if the levels are right, it makes a FAST Siphon.

I do not recommend it if you have to regularly pump a LOT of liquid upwards as you'll be cursing the thing, but as a handy pump for occasional use and as a self priming siphon, it is fantastic.

I totally need one, let me know how it works. I cycle through my cans weekly and ug it's a PITA I always still some.
