has anyone waxed supermarket cheese?

I did a search here and all i found were links to you tube sites I am going to do it, wax is coming from amazon, but does anyone have real life experience? seems like the consensus is to leave it out a day or two to leach out added liquid, some say salt it too. thanks,

I buy raw cheddar organic cheese in bulk. I was thinking of trying this method for storage.
