student-gets-suspended-after-liking-picture-of-a-gun-on-instagram

I hear you, but I am going to get on the School Board instead. I think it will be fun making their heads explode. Hopefully more will follow.

The 2 options are not mutually exclusive, particularly given that one pays for the public schools, and their possible stupidities, regardless of whether one has any children in said schools.

Damn, and I thought it was bad 10 years ago when I was in middle school. There is no group of people more high on power, irresponsible, and devoid of common sense than public school administrators. I'm sure there are exceptions in less moonbatty towns, but around Boston, those exceptions are very rare.

This kind of hyper-sensitivity is waaay out of control. I. Just. Don't. Get. It.

I realize that the administrators in our public schools are often ignorant dickwads, but what adult in their right mind thinks liking a picture of an air soft gun constitutes a threat? Maybe the kid plays airsoft? And he wants the gun?

Perhaps a better question: How did they find/review/discover this? Does some weirdo school administrator come into work every morning and review ever post and every like on every social media site on the planet? Sorry, but THATs plain scary.

It's an extension of the current brand of idiotic thought among school administrators that their powers do not stop at the edge of school property. That they are somehow supposed to be monitoring kids 24x7, whether they are in school or not. See the relevant case of the Philthydelphia school district that was spying on kids through the webcams of the school-issued laptops. I still think those ****ers should have been locked up for creating and disseminating child pornography.

Moonbat's name is Fussnecker, what do you expect? Country needs an effing enema.

Parents can't sue since the district dropped the suspension, read the article.

Yep,

They don't think it constitutes a threat to anyone's safety. To them it constitutes a threat to their political views. "Liking" a picture of a gun, even an airsoft gun, goes against their agenda of destroying civil rights...in this case trampling his first and second amendment rights at the same time. There has been a lot of this lately, with kids getting suspended for not following the political agenda of the school administrators. Just go Google "student suspended for wearing Donald Trump [hat/shirt/etc]"...

According to "Cam and Co." kid who liked the pic is being charged with felony causing a panic and the kid that posted the pic is being charged with misdemeanor causing a panic.

I'll say it again: teachers and administrators don't want to be policing this crap outside schools. But in many cases, the law requires them to. Read the Phoebe Prince statute here in MA; school administrators lobbied against it because it requires that they investigate cyber-bullying and other forms of bullying that happen outside school hours.

As usual, blame the legislature. The Phoebe Prince law was the ultimate in feel-good legislation that opened the door for some troubling things.

Wait, wtf? That can't be real. There's no ****ing way that can be real. How is a kid liking a picture on Instagram a felony, and posting a picture a misdemeanor?

I need to see source material before I believe this.

I can blame the legislature for that, but there's a lot of bullshit that goes on that's not mandated by stupid laws. See the example I gave about Philadelphia. I know a few teachers who actively think it's right that they do this kind of shit. They're also raving liberals and think you shouldn't so much as raise your voice with your children, let alone spank them, so not the best examples. I'm sure most teachers don't think that, but they're still being held hostage by the ones who do.

Just watched the Cam and Co. feed again. He referenced station WLWT. Kid who like the picture also texted a friend that he was bring a gun to school in his hoodie. He is being charged with inducing panic which is a 2nd degree felony. Kid that posted the pic was charged with a misdemeanor version of inducing panic.
