Storing spotting scope with eye piece removed

I have a Konuspot 80 that I bought a MCM hard case for. Of course the hardcase is not going to work without the eye piece removed. [sad2]

Are there any caps or anything on the market that I can use to cover the hole where the eyepiece would be to keep dust out during storage? Having a hard time finding anything.

Or am I completely misguided and am aOK removing the eyepiece for storage?
