I live in southeastern NH (Rockingham), and go to school in southwestern NH (Cheshire). I am looking for a good place to shoot that is not a private club or organized range in either or both aforementioned parts of the state. If anyone can recommend some land that is privately owned with a landowner who is willing to give written permission to use the land, I would greatly appreciate it.

These places are few and far between. Its sorta like asking "Which internet vendor ships ammo to Massachusetts" (see the rules) While there are no rules per se about giving out the locations where one may shoot on public land, few are willing to do so.

Reasons vary, Some shooters are slobs and will not clean up after themselves, abbuting landowners could be sheeple and afraid of gunfire (also known as the sound of freedom) and well some folks are just anti's and will lurk or troll on forums such as this one and go trash a good spot just to get it closed.

Best to join a club.

Go join the Exeter Sportsmans Club. It is one of the oldest in the country and from what the doctors say at the hospital my mom works at, it is a nice club.

You could also join Monadnock Rod and Gun club since you are going to school out that way. Which is also a good club from what I've heard on the forum. It is where most if not all NES green member shoots are held.

I will look into Exeter, as well as Chester; both are relatively close to me. I have already looked into Monadnock, and I really like it, but according to their website, they have a waiting list because they reached their membership cap.

That's probably because they are an excellent club.

There are sand pits around where you can sometimes shoot at. There was one in Barrington but I think the owners of the property either put a stop to it or they sold it and the new owners did. I know there is one in Tuftonboro, NH because a co-worker shoots there but I do not know where it is since we haven't gone shooting yet, not that I would give out its location on a public forum anyway. There may be a few more on the seacoast but no one on this forum will tell you (nothing personal BTW, your just an unknown at this time). The only way your gonna find out is by meeting someone in person and it comes up in conversation. That was how I found out about the one in Barrington before it was closed.

If you are near Barrington (so Epping or Newmarket or Newfields), Major Waldrons Sportsmans Association on Rte 9 in Barrington is a nice club. Once I get some money together I will be rejoining them.

There is one sandpit we go to. We have a verbal agreement with the guys running it, and if they are there working we will go over every time and ask. They have always been cool with us. BUT, we never leave a mess, or shoot their equipment or anything. I would not give it's location just because it's extremely limited "membership" now, and if a lot of people were to show up, a mess would be made, and that would be it......

I have multiple places to shoot and have permission to shoot there,I wouldn't give them up no matter the cost.

I also belong to a club.
