Soldiers Among Those Charged With Interstate Gun-Trafficking
Prosecutors say three Army personnel were among 12 accused of conspiring to illegally move firearms from Tennessee and Kentucky to gang members on Chicago’s streets.

"WASHINGTON—Twelve people, including three U.S. Army soldiers, have been charged in an interstate gun-trafficking ring that supplied more than 90 guns to gang members on the streets of Chicago, where they were used in a mass shooting and other violence, Justice Department officials said Friday…In the Chicago case, at least one of the trafficked guns was used in a mass shooting at a party in March 2021 in which one man was killed and several others injured. Investigators from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives used technology that captures and compares ballistics evidence to trace several guns recovered at the crime scene to the Clarksville area and ultimately the soldiers, officials said."
One year later, 12 charged with illegal sales of 90 guns in Chicago, with a "mass shooting" fatality of one. A drop in the bucket for BATF‘s efforts…
