I apologize if this topic is a dupe, I did a search prior to posting. I am sure everyone is aware of the export on German Sigs to the states because of the apparent Colombian "straw purchases." If not, see link below...

When the new style X5s came out, I purchased an Entry in 9mm with the hopes of turning it into a race gun of sorts. Every thing is stock, save for a pair of Hogue Gmascus grips. For the past year, I have called Sig periodically to find out when more parts/add-ons will be available. At first, it was six months, then 8 months, then (and the latest update)..no plans to make parts available in the states. This kind of scares me- not from an accessory point of view, but getting support for my German made X5 if something goes wrong. Not to knock Exeter, but I would ideally want German made parts put back on my German made Sig..maybe im weird like that...I dont want to end up with a Franken-X5 made up of mismatched parts.
My question is this: Is now the time to sell German made Sigs? I am not a collector- I shoot the hell out of all my guns but the X5 is still in pristine condition. I had an FFL (at my local range) offer me $400 more than what I paid for it this past weekend... What does NES think? Hold onto German made Sigs since there is no end to the ban in sight and things in Germany from a manufacturing standpoint do not look good, or sell off German made Sigs to collectors who will hoard them? I like the X5, but have many other "toys" that I shoot more often... if it werent for the ban, I would hold onto it- but not being able to get parts/service for it concerns me....
