Show me your AR

I'm a believer in K.I.S.S. I've fooled around with some carry-handle mount optics but always end up back with regular ol' A2 iron sights. The only "must have" add-on accessory for me is a Sling Thing for the front sling mount, which I have on both my uppers.

I started out with a pre-ban Colt Sporter in 7.62X39. I bought it in September of 1994 when I was 19. Its serial number is within 100 units of the last "pre-ban" rifle. It has a threaded on suppresor, no bayo-lug, and the sear block is pinned in place. Here it is with the Sling Thing and a cheapie stock I tried out (I went back to the regular A2)

I later picked up a no-name upper in .223 in a trade. It has literally no identifying markings anywhere on or in it, other than the ".223" and twist rate on the barrel. I'm on an eternal quest to find a decently priced pre-ban lower to put this upper on so I can reunite the original 7.62 upper and lower for good.

Secondly. I just joined the site a couple days ago. from what I see this is a great and growing site. I look forward to learning and sharing with you guys! I just moved up here to Wa state from Phoenix about 8 months ago. Boy is the weather crazy up here...lol Now I am moving the family down to Boise. Just cant make enough money in this small little town.

Anyway, thanks again for the great site. Hope to meet some good folks!

I am curious, where in WA were you? I lived there from 1982-91. Started off in Tacoma, worked my way up to Everett in a series of moves. I still miss the area.

I am still here fellas...ha I just like to spend my time browsing gun forums and meeting new folks.

Frosty,

I just moved up to Pullman from Phoenix about 8 months ago. Huge change, there are actualy 4 seasons up here...lol I love it here in the NW, its deff. gods country up here!!! But unfortunately I must re locate the family due to not being able to make as much money here as in Phoenix. Small town, small money.

My buddy just retired from the Army after 20 years and moved back to Boise/Caldwell. So I have been doing alot of job search and, boy I can make pretty good money down there. I am in construction, and there is plenty of it down in the area.

There seems to be alot of good folks here at NES, I plan on sticking around if you all dont mind[wink]

Again, some very nice EBR's here. Cant have enough of them black beuty's!!

All the way from Washington State. All right!

Wow... I just found this thread. Nice guns. My AR is just your standard stock MA compliant Bushmaster. (Therefore, you all know what it looks like.)

But, this inspires me to need to do more.

My first AR, an LMT Defender with the monolithic rail platform, 16" ... with an Elcan Specter DR sight and Magpul UBR buttstock. After taking it to the range, I'm in love:

My first:
003.jpg

Eagle Arms Pre-ban AR 15
20" match barrel.
Gonna turn this one into a long range gun.

My 2nd:

Del-Ton upper and lower
YHM rear flip-up BUIS
CAA quad rail
MIAD

Here are a few of mine.

50 beowulf Alxander Arms Lower

5.56 with 12" SS bull barrel and fake superssor Rock River Arms Lower

Question; how do I change my attached file to a photo so it shows up in the post?
Thanks

Here's two and a half more from the collection. The first is an EA J-15 pre-ban I picked up this week with both two uppers (20" and 10.5 w/5.5" flash hider).

The second is my Franklin with LOTS of evil features plus pre-ban beta-c mag [wink]

Love the first one...

Really like the second (and a half), one...

Last one is borderline hit-or-miss for me (it's either the Beta-C mag or my age showing [wink]).

Nonetheless... great collection!

I picked up the EA because it looks just like a Vietnam Era rifle. She's also a blast to shoot!

Yeah, the last one is a bit much, but if you have enough ARs you need to have that TOTALLY EVIL one in the collection [smile]. I just threw the beta mag in there since it makes it that much more evil looking.

Paul, does your setup have a flip up rear sight?

Yes, it has a full Troy BUIS set. You can just see the wheel for the rear under the ACOG. Since the ACOG won't cowitness with the sights, I just moved the ACOG back as far as possible which prevents the rear sight from flipping up.

For all I know, I'm doing it wrong.
