Doesn't the orange thingy on the barrel mean it's a toy?
looks like a foam earplug - keep the fumes out of the bore so they can get an accurate rifling comparison without compromising evidence by cleaning it (your honor, they mechanically manipulated that weapon)
Setting the prints on site is a great idea - less chance of obscuring evidence.
Looks like that shotspotter is getting a workout....
