I just bought a 92fs. This is my first non-plastic pistol. The end of the barrel has a scatch in it that looks like it was painted over possibly. Some scuffing or something on the back of the slide... And the front sight has chips out of it. Was not a floor model, guy brought it out from the back in the brand new box.

Is this normal or just my OCD?

Thank you in advance.

I'm not a Beretta expert, but to me it looks like that longitudinal scratch is maybe supposed to be there (last pic). I'm not sure what the first one is supposed to be showing. The middle one looks pretty hinky, and I would wonder about it but it wouldn't bother me.

Should you be mad? Only you can answer that. If you shoot it as often as you should, the whole gun will soon take on the kind of wear it ought to have.

I buy used, almost exclusively, so clearly my standards are not yours.

I wouldn't get too worked up over it. It will be a lot more dinged when you're done with it. For that scratch on the barrel, though, check the corresponding area on the slide for small metal burrs. That happened to me once. It was easily stoned off.

maybe during the factory QC check the burr scratched the barrel and the factory removed it. Then the factory would refinish the barrel like AKM observed.

order yourself a D spring immediately. It will greatly reduce the trigger pull in double action.
