Rod guides

I"m in Western Mass and am looking to get a couple of guides on my rods repaired. I would also like to know where they (rodbuilders) get the tape that they wrap the guide feet with and then epoxy. I am not opposed to trying it myself.

Hi Dan, I just finished building my second rod. The fine people at rodbuildingforum.com really helped alot. Go there & do some searches. You will find everything you need to know. PM me if you have any questions.

P.S. The guides are fastened to the rod by thread & epoxy, not tape.

Learn a whip finish and you are all set. Epoxy part is easy. What kind of rod, fresh spinning, salt, fly?
