Remington 710

Was thinking of picking one up in 30-06 for Deer and other big game. Any Reviews?

Never been impressed by the couple I've handled nor have I ever really heard or read any outstanding first-hand talk about them. Were it me, and I was looking for a deer gun in that same price range, I'd go with a Savage Stevens 200. Same as a regualr Savage but without the Acutrigger.

I haven't heard great things, and in fact, I thought there was a recall on some of them at one point.

You can probably find a good used rifle in the same price range too.

The 710 is a "throw away" rifle.
Buy a Savage or a Remington 700 and you will have a gun that will serve you for a lifetime.
Smattern fact, I'd take a nice clean Mosin or Yugo Mauser before a 710.
