i have been “away” awhile trying to pay off bills and what nots. I recently wanted to finish my SBR. I been reading the Form 1’s may get denied. Is this only dealer transfers because I’m building mine. Question 2 is can I buy my barrel now so I can get the actual overall length? For some reason I remember that being a no. Lastly what’s this I’m reading that we can get parts shipped to MA anymore?

My understanding of Form 1s submitted post-7/20/16, the ATF is requiring proof of possession before said date. I don't know if it applies across the board to all rifles or just those named in the AWB + "copycats".

I'm not sure what you mean by FFL transfers being denied. Are you talking general or NFA specific?

If you don't have your stamp yet, it's your call to decide if you want to order the barrel now. Some say no because it's considered "constructive possession" of an SBR. Whatever you're looking to build, there's a good chance someone has the barrel/stock/OAL listed somewhere online.

Lastly, many shops/distributors still ship to MA.
