Looks like the Mass police now LOVE the Senate gun control law.

This isn’t the same guy who testified during the hearings last year in opposition to the bill. What happened to that guy??
The person who testified at the house last year was there since the actual president of the association wasn't available. (That's what I remember from his opening statement).

"And the proposed law would specifically ban firing a gun at buildings that are inhabited or “in use.”

Ummm... isn't that already illegal? Aren't Glock switches already illegal? Isn't the creation of full firearms from ghost guns illegal unless for licensed gun owners?

Serialize every part? C'mon now... that's just plain old gun control because ain't nobody gonna serialize all their parts just for MA. ehWouldn't that then prevent MA residents from buying parts from other states?

For the illegal among us, they'll source all the unserialized ghost guns they want from other states. They'll shoot at occupied buildings without care, and continue to buy Glock switches on the black market And they won't give a damn.

Bunch of effing morons...
On the topic of Glock switches, they are certainly federally illegal, but, as we know, the ATF has simply given up on doing anything about it. As it was explained to me, the federal prosecutors are not going to waste time on some small time person with a glock switch. So, they want it to be illegal at the state level so they can prosecute it there. Of course, it will most likely just be an add on to whatever other criminal behavior was being done at the time.

Firing at a building in use could also have many existing charges, Jim Wallace pointed this out (attempted murder if anyone is inside the house, discharging a gun within 500 ft of a building, etc). But DA's just seem to want more laws that they can selectively prosecute.

"“The Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association, which represents city, town and university police chiefs across the commonwealth, supports the concise firearms reform bill put forth by the Senate,” said Chief Eric P. Gillis, president of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association."
Fully expected. As long as it doesn't impact the work of the chiefs, they are all for it.
I hope my club stops renting range to them, that may be the only way to get them on our side
This state blows
Never happen. I was a BOD member of a MA club. PDs were abusing the ranges (no fee charged to them) and we discussed telling them that they couldn't use the ranges any more. Overwhelming feeling was that if they did that, they would deny LTCs and other nastiness in retribution.

'They're tyrants so we better do what they say'

The reason why cops are except from these gun laws is not because they are "experts at firearms" (although they keep telling the public that), it's because they're on the government's side. That's literally the only reason.

The cop's job is not "carrying a firearm". The only purpose of a firearm on a cop is for self-defense. That's all. It should be no different than a regular civilian.
They are a protected class. I ran into a cop buying an Sig P365 in MA one of those stupid “periscope” site ones. He was such an a**h***.

I also left something on their Facebook page.
