Question on zeroing

Sight adjustments are sight adjustments. Marksmanship fundmentals are more important. [wink]
What he said!!!

Although several folks have commented that when they get a Liberty Trainer Rifle set up with sling, Tech-sights, etc, they sometimes get confused as they reach forward to push the safety forward... like on their M1A or M1. [laugh]

Forget the gear (so long as it works). Focus on the skills.

Those are the best quotes I've heard yet to sum it up.

It's the shooter that makes the Rifleman, NOT the rifle.

And a minor correction on Ross's statement. The LTR (Liberty Training Rifle) version 10/22 uses M16A1 sights, not A2 type. Get the TSR100's, the elevation adjustment is not in any way needed.

I will have at least 8 .22's (6 Rugers, 1 Win 190 and a Rem 513T) at Harvard, plus a few more my other Instructors will have. 4 of the Rugers are LTR's, the other 2 are scoped. Yes, you can borrow one, if you need to. Let me know ahead of time, and you will need to bring ammo. Wal-Mart has Federal in boxes of 550 for $12, that's the place to go get it.

I'll give you some threads on tarting up the 10/22.

The Army zero`s it`s rifles at 25m. To do this you shoot 3 sets of 3 rounds. Shoot 1st 3 and walk down with a pen. Connect the dots. Walk back to firing line and shoot 3 more using the same sight picture. Walk down and connect the dots again. Hopefully they are in the same area of the target. Make sight adjustments. Fire 3 more rds. to confirm zero.
Now this is easier said than done. If you haven`t mastered the 3 skills necessary for marksmanship it could be a long day.
A good 4 points of contact from a prone supported position, good consistent sight picture and a good trigger"Squeeze", not pull. you can usually get away with 1 flyer in each group and still zero. I have wanted to kill many privates because they couldn`t put together consistent shot groups.
