Powered milk or milk solids?

i was always under impression that those are same thing. if recipe calls for milk solids or dry milk or powdered milk or constituted milk i treat them all the same.
but i'm not a food chemist so don't know.
 
Thanks Mike, I think they generally are the same. I got 30 free cases from a bakery and I was wondering what the main dif was. I'll just do a little test.

How is it packed? Milk is one of the few things I have foiund that goes nasty fairly quickly if not sealed well. Those loose boxes that you can buy it in suck for LTS.
 
I store my dry milk in mylar quart sized bags. 3 cups per bag. with an absorber. 2 2/3 cups will make 2 quarts of milk so my packages will make just over 2 quarts.
