Positive cop story

It sounds like there was just a bit of luck involved. The shot hit just below the right eye. Although a 25 yard head shot it not out of the possibility for a competent shooter, it is not probable that someone firing defensively, under pressure, at a moving target in a situation where body armor is not suspected would aim for the head.

Ii see this same thing all the time at matches when a shot on a distant, and fully exposed, target hits the upper B zone (formerly referred to as the "head") of a USPSA target. When that happens, it's always a bit of skill that kept the round in the general vicinity of the paper, and luck that kept the high off center shot on paper.

In the dark, with the suspect moving, the officer moving, and the suspect shooting at him, that's not a particularly easy shot. Well done.

Exactly and what was that yut doing with a gun in NYC? They have strict rules about that! I'm writing a strongly worded letter to Mayor Bloomberg.

Love the comment:

"What Christopher did was way beyond wrong, stupid, idiotic, and crazy. I have no idea what possessed him to do those things. Yeah, he tried to rob women, stole a van, and opened fire at a cop, but the cop did not have to kill him."

Yea asking him politely between rounds breezing by his head to stop would've been a far more effective plan!
