Great photos! One of them looked like Sir Ben Kingsley. Talk about elaborate uniforms. One guy had a shield, I wonder if it was ceremonial, or actually used in battle.

Third one down? It's not a shield, but a stiff leather pouch called a sabretache. Sort of like a map case, worn by hussars. You can see the back of one in one of the other pics.
