The Shirley Rod and Gun Club will be having our Annual Turkey Shoot on Sunday November 19th. The public is invited to this event and it's lots-o-fun.

Here's a link

We'll be giving away over 300 turkeys to the winners of our raffles and various marksmanship contests. We'll also be raffling off a T/C .50 cal muzzleloader, a cord of wood, and some other stuff that slips my mind at the moment.

This is as much fun as you can have with your clothes on. I'm working at this event so I'll be there all day. Stop by, say hello, and win a turkey. (Just don't expect to win one if you're competing in one of my heats at the S&W .500 shoot - I'm undefeated).

Our marksmanship contests include:
.30-06 rifle target competition
Black powder muzzleloader shoots
Target shooting with the .500 Smith and Wesson Magnum - The world's most powerful handgun!
BB-gun target shooting (great for kids)
Archery competitions
.410 shotgun contests (great for kids or wimpy adults)
Trap Shooting
Swinging target shoot
"Lucky Target" shooting with a .22 pistol

You're all set Brent... [wink]

I'm bumping this up.

I'll be running the "Lucky Target" game in the morning. Last year, a 4 year old kid won a turkey at this game. It involves shooting a .22 revolver at a grid of numbers in heats of 6 shooters at a time - highest score wins (hence the name "Lucky Target"). We gave away over 40 turkeys at this game alone.

C'mon by the club and win a turkey. The weather is supposed to be perfect (50 degrees and clear) so stop by and have a ball!

Edit: Stop by even if you suck at shooting. We had a couple of rounds where we had to have "do overs" because six shooters couldn't hit an 8-1/2" by 11" sheet of paper at 25 feet!
