[angry]I signed up for this site before the election, kind of a " keep your friends close and your enemies closer" thing. Here is the latest email from OFA, its just like Glenn Beck said they would do.

sean --

An alarming new study shows that health care costs increased last year at the fastest rate in more than a half century.

Health care spending rose to an estimated $2.5 trillion in 2009, or $8,047 per person -- and is now projected to nearly double by 2019. If we don't act, this growing burden will mean more lost jobs, more families pushed into bankruptcy, and more crushing debt for our nation.

The conclusion is clear: This isn't a problem we can kick down the road for another decade -- or even another year. We need to pass health reform now.

We're incredibly close. But too many in Washington are now saying that we should delay or give up on reform entirely. So we need to make it crystal clear that Americans understand the stakes for our economy and our lives, and that we want action.

Can you write a letter to the editor of your local paper right now?

In just five minutes of your time, you can tell thousands of readers about this new report on spiraling costs, and why abandoning reform is just not an option.

You can also help by posting this note on Facebook, letting your friends know about the new costs study and asking them to join you in writing a letter to a local paper.

President Obama and many allies in Congress are working hard to finish the job -- but we can't rest until it's done. Your note will help break through the Washington spin and show members of Congress and the media what local voters really believe. Click here to get started:

It's clear that we're in the fight of our lives to pass real reform. But after a century of trying, the finish line is finally in sight. As President Obama reminded us all in his State of the Union address, we're fighting for our families and our country -- and we don't quit.

Thanks for making it possible,

Mitch

Are you really under the impression that most people who voted for Scott Brown did so with health reform in mind?

I hate to break it to you, but I know a Hell of a lot of Democrats who voted Brown for one reason only: HE WASN'T MARTHA COAKLEY.
There's a reason Brown has been making noises about joining with Obama administration on some issues. You are woefully misinformed if you think no one wants HCR in this country. Even after the awful hack they've made of the project, the last poll I looked at saw most Americans wanting reform and a nearly 50/50 split on passing the existing senate bill once you include margin of error. And a substantial majority want SOME reform, even if not this mess.

Those OFA things are just AWFUL. Really pathetic partisan Hackery for the most part. But if you get the GOP ones and believe those are somehow accurate, you're truly being led around by the nose. Political parties tell their supporters what they want to hear, not necessarily what they know is true.
People are PISSED at the democrats in congress for the reason they always are. They're ineffectual in congress and too divided to get anything accomplished except the things that no one wanted in the first place. -And Obama's abysmal leadership in the last year hasn't helped.

They didn't hear us? Jeez dude, read a news source that isn't run by Rupert Murdoch.

So, the tea parties have been ineffective?

Where have you been?

There is a widespread rejection of the far left agenda of Obama...the overspending, over borrowing, and over taxation (current and future). And then there's the rampant corruption by both parties.

Scott Brown didn't raise $1million per day near the end because he wasn't Martha Coakley.

Smell the coffee, for crying out loud!

Progressiveness is in both parties and they ( the progressive)will use any avenue they can to get what they want. Most poor democrats think that the people behind their party is for the working people. They are really just mislead and need to be educated on the "progressive" movement. This has been going on since the late 1800's. I have started reading some eye opening books, sure some of them are down right boring but after understanding what progressiveness is all about it is time to "stand the wall"! Some of the biggest threats to our Constitution were Wilson a democrat and FDR a Republican, yes a republican, both were progressives. Right after FDR presidency the congress passed the two term amendment. Why? Because FRD if he chose could have set up a Dictatorship for himself! Unbelievable but true, they don't teach us this in school but that is another discussion it itself.
It is time to smell the roses! Progressives want big government to control the masses in a way they seem fit because they think we the people aren't capable of it. To accomplish this they will try and destroy our constitution. This is the only way they can accomplish their agenda.
Scott Brown is not a Progressive and even without the knowledge that some have of this movement most voted for what he stood for. Telling me their is great hope for our voters doing the right thing to keep their hard eared freedoms. BTW after reading about this read about Marxism because they are the same principles. The truth will set you free and hopefully keep our Constitution safe.

If it weren't for the Tea Parties organizing opposition at the Town Halls and elsewhere, you would already by paying higher taxes and outrageous premium increases, and doctors would already be retiring at a rate that would lead to serious shortages of care in some states and cities.

They say the finish line is near - they are right - we are almost finished ending their socialist nightmare scheme.

Reform of the health-care sector is necessary, but as Reagan said, "Government is not the solution; government is the problem." We have just crossed a milestone: government programs now fund over 50% of all medical expenses in the country.

The reform we need is to get government out of the industry so that it normal competitive forces can bring those costs down in a freely competitive environment. There is no other solution that will work so well.

I think that it's ironic that Our dear Leader Obama was trying to push through healthcare reform with no bi-partisan help. Now that the Socialists no longer have a majority,he is all for a bi-partisanship.

He held up to his campaign promise only after there were no other options.

Institute a 25% tax on ALL Western Union money orders going out of country. One of the biggest costs of healthcare is funding all the free healthcare for illegal aliens, the 25% tax will fund all that "free" healthcare for the 3rd world invaders.

That works for me. [smile]

Health Care reform should come in slower increments, and never lead to "single payer". Some of the provisions of the HC plan are GOOD.

For example: denial of coverage based on pre-existing conditions. Caps on health spending. etc. Yea go on, call me a liberal. I know what I am, do you? How can you deny health coverage to a child dying of cancer?

Here is a little personal insight on that matter. Back in the 80's, I was a window clerk for the Postal Service working in the greater Boston area. On the first three days of every month, when all who suckle at the government teat get their money, our money order business would boom. It was the norm to do tens of thousands of dollars in daily transactions, all in cash, for postal money orders.

And how is the relevant to the above quote, you ask? Because the same people who just purchased a money order from me would come right back to the window and send it Express Mail to countries south of the border. El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala being some of the more popular destinations.

All that money was/is our tax dollars at work. Entitlement program money being sent out of the country never to be seen again.

How is that hope and change thing working out?
