All on flies. Right now I am strictly nymph fishing. It has been deadly. I'm starting to understand what type of water to look for. This particular spot looked like a feeding conveyor belt. I knew they had to be there. Once I figured out the depth it was game on. They were stacked in there. I caught about twenty fish. I finally just left.
I need to take a pic at what some of these good pockets look like.
I fly fished last year in mass with a flyrod, going after the stocked fish. I had some good luck. But had I known then what I know now from my experiences on the Yellowstone and some of the mountain creeks I have hit...... I would have pulled a lot more fish out!
I can't put into words how much fun I am having with a flyrod. Probably helps to be living in one of the best places on the planet to do it.
