Dear PGNH member:

HB225 has been scheduled for a public hearing on THURSDAY FEBRUARY 17, at 10:00 a.m., in the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee (room 204, Legislative Office Building -- behind the State House). This bill calls for the timely return of personal property, "including weapons," confiscated by law enforcement, upon the acquittal of or dismissal of criminal proceedings against a person charged with a crime. The property owner would be paid $100 for each day after the fifth day that property is not returned. We urge you to contact committee members and your House representative(s), and to show up at the committee hearing if possible. If you do not wish to testify, you can show your support (or opposition) to a bill by signing the "blue sheet" in the committee room for each bill.
