Just got done putting together a carbine.

Specs:
  1. LMT upper with 16" M4 profile chrome plated 1/7 barrel
  2. DPMS lower with 6 position telestock
  3. Rock River bolt carrier group, charging handle, and two-stage trigger
  4. Midwest Industries folding rear sight

Still need a weapon light (will mount to the side of the FSB) to make it truly useful for its primary purpose.

Will also get an EOTech 512 and a three point sling in the near future.

Notice I called it a weapon. That's because its primary purpose is defense of home. Of course, I plan to shoot the stuffing out of it. First at my club's various ranges (including the 600 yd HP range), then in carbine training courses.

Thanks.

I was undecided between the EOTech and the Aimpoint until today. I got to try them both on rifles at a local store and the EOTech just seems to me to be the best solution for CQB out to 250 meters or so.

Ya know, I always wanted to build a carbine especially after talking to TYPEO when I first met him at a show. My Father bought a Colt recently because it reminded him of the M16 he carried in Vietnam. He said I can shoot it whenever I want, plus I'll inherit it when he goes. Its a great rifle, but I still want to build a modern tactical rifle. I just need to stop buying 101 year old Mausers and save my cash to do so.
Four of these and I could have a very nice black rifle. [hmmm]
