Nes Member/user title

Quick question.

I've noticed many people on here have different titles under their user names. Such as Army veteran or Forum so & so.
I searched through all the settings & found no option to change this status.
I'm not interested personally in changing mine to something else. I was just wondering how people do this to satisfy my own curiosity.

Oh regarding the veteran one, I believe when you sign up for the site you can register as a vet if you wanted to. At that point I believe it would change, but again it's a guess.

Just Derek (and probably Shorty) as far as I know. If he let me do it everyone would have a special name.
