4th, ask more for your used gun than it cost brand new.
5th, take a picture from 12 feet away using a homemade camera in a dark room. Be sure to include part of your feet in the picture.
6th, when it doesn't sell bump it to the top 300 times lowering the price by one dollar each time.
When all else fails bring the gun to a gun buy-back and trade it for a Starbucks gift certificate and a signed picture of Liz Warren skinning a beaver.

The real key?

NEVER lower your price. If you've bumped it five or six times at an inflated price, just stand fast and wait 'em out. They think they've got you beat: don't take any shit from those skinflints! Quitters never win, so KEEP THAT ASKING PRICE HIGH!
