Need NYS lawyer who is familiar with the laws for a pistol permit application

I have a buddy who wished to apply for his NYS pistol permit. He has some minor issues he'd like to take care of before he applies and asked if I knew any lawyers in or near Dutchess County who are gun friendly and know how to work the laws of NYS. Any suggestion will be appreciated and I will forward him your suggestions. Thanks.
