I would love to meet some NES HAM enthusiasts at this event. I got my Technician license in January 2013, picked up a Yaesu FT-60 at HRO (upgraded the antenna and got the software package for programming), and joined CMARA. However, I kind of piddled out after that, I would really like to pick this back up. I actually had a goal of getting my General license this year, but I haven't event been doing anything with my Technician license so not sure if this will happen. Its kind of overwhelming trying to learn everything from books/magazines/online. Would really like to actually meet some folks who can show me the ropes.

I may try to get there on Saturday. I got my general a few months ago and have been looking for a cheap hf rig. But it is my anniversary so I may not make it.

I'll be on the Taunton VHF NXDN frequency in talk around direct and on the 900 MHZ P25 simplex channel. I can't tolerate the analog junk anymore. Analog gets too noisy in RF rich environments.

I was thinking of going on Friday for a while. I do much better seeing things hands on. Even though I got my license last year, I have done nothing.
