The Board of Selectmen confirmed appointments to the committee that will oversee the search for a new Natick police chief.

Board of Selectmen chair Josh Ostroff said the board is planning to discuss the job description and minimum qualifications at their next meeting on June 7 so the committee can commence their search. It’s a “long term process to identify the best police chief for the community,” said Ostroff.
Last fall's Town Meeting removed the police chief's position from Civil Service. The move wasn't without controversy within the Board of Selectmen and Police Department.
